Kitten rescued by woman’s acute hearing after spending 48 hours trapped under debris

A woman allowed herself to be guided by her hearing to a pile of brambles and rubbish where she discovered a small being in very bad shape. A rescue group then organized to be able to get him out of there and provide him with the care he so badly needed. He is now back at the shelter.

A resident of the county of Surrey, in the southeast of England, was walking around a property when she heard weak meows. So she followed the sounds to a pile of brambles, wooden planks full of nails and intermingled concrete.

Leaning over, she discovered 2 round eyes watching her with relief. A tiny ginger kitten needed help.

The good Samaritan then went to get food and water and then kindly arranged them in the hope that he would be tempted and come out of hiding. But she quickly realized that he was stuck and that he could not get out of this trap alone.

The woman therefore called the BC SPCA animal protection association for help and informed the owner of the premises.

A rescue group organized to rescue him.

Clearing
The Good Samaritans rolled up their sleeves and cleared the area. It was first necessary to get rid of the invasive bramble. Then, the volunteers carefully lifted the rubble and other pieces of wood one by one, in order to access the baby.
After several hours of effort, the kitten was finally delivered. No member of his family was spotted nearby.

«The little one was flea-infested, underweight, hungry and thirsty once he was finally freed from the debris,» the BC SPCA’s Mark Vosper told KamloopsNow.

The unfortunate was affectionately named Rubble (which means debris in English) and was taken to the veterinary clinic.

He was rehydrated with an infusion and then treated for parasites. He is now recovering with caring volunteers and will soon be offered for adoption.

«This feisty little survivor is now resting with a full stomach,» added Mark.
