It’s the end of the ordeal for Kola, a dog neglected by his former owner in South Korea. 2 animal protection associations worked hand in hand to save him, then take him across the Pacific to meet his new New York family.
The images showing a dog tied by a short leash and at the mercy of the elements had moved many Internet users, both in South Korea where he lived and elsewhere in the world, especially in the United States. This is now where he finds himself and leads a new existence, much happier.
Kola spent most of his days and nights outside, homeless and bound by a chain so short he could barely sit up. He didn’t even get decent food and had no water available. The video recounting his living conditions was very heartbreaking.
Its owner only kept it for hunting. He didn’t seem to care about her well-being. As soon as they became aware of the situation, 2 associations joined their efforts to rescue the canine. These are «In Defense of Animals» and «Jindo Love Rescue».

It was necessary at all costs to save Kola and take him out of Korea. For that, we first had to convince his master to let him go. The Jindo Love Rescue team talked with him for a long time and finally managed to persuade him. The dog was now in good hands, fed, cared for and pampered at the shelter.
Like many people, Azadeh Rahmani was touched by the story of the quadruped, which he discovered on the association’s website. “Looking at the photos, I felt a connection with Kola, says this resident of New York. I could see in his eyes that he desperately wanted to be part of a family. »
He immediately contacted the shelter with a view to adopting her. Jindo Love Rescue and In Defense of Animals arranged for Kola to fly to the United States.

On Monday morning, the animal arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, where his new family was waiting for him; Azadeh Rahmani, his wife and their dog. A joyful and emotional encounter.
