The man spent over a year gaining the trust of a small homeless cat who visited his house in search of food, now they are best friends
For just over a year, a man named Lex, who initially didn’t consider himself a cat lover, tried to be a friend for a homeless cat to gain his trust. He was undoubtedly very patient and gradually approached the elusive cat he called «Cinnabon».
When he saw him hanging around his house, he noticed that the little feline was quite skinny and although at first he didn’t pay much attention to it, he then decided to leave him some tuna in his terrace.
A man spends a year gaining the trust of a homeless cat
The cat did not approach Lex, he seemed to be afraid of humans, yet Cinnabon came back looking for food, so Lex to make sure the feline had something to eat, he left water and food in your garden.
Lex told:
He just ate from his little food and water bowl outside my house. And if he noticed me on the other side of the glass, he would run away. He was scared.
Gradually, Lex became more and more interested in the homeless cat, and decided to build him a small house in his yard to serve as a refuge for him on cold nights, and it was a very pleasant surprise to discover that Cinnabon went into the little house full of blankets to rest.
Lex said:
I remember looking through the window and seeing her at his house. He was looking at me. He just lowered his head and started to sleep. When he slept in the house, I thought that was a crucial moment. How to be part of the family.
Despite these advances between the two, Cinnabon wasn’t ready to go all the way with Lex, it would still take the homeless cat a little longer to trust him.
One of so many days Lex discovered that outside in the snow through the glass door was the cat meowing, the man thought Cinnabon still a little nervous wanted to enter the house, he tried to entice him with treats, and once inside the house the cat finally allowed Lex to come pet it.
Cinnabon and Lex are now part of the family and the feline likes to stay home next to him, although the man often leaves his patio door open so the cat likes to go out and come back whenever he wants.
