Red Wolf Pups which are nearly endarged, can be Found In The Woods Of North Carolina.That gave a hope that there are a chance to save that kind of red wolves.
It’s the first litter of red wolf pups born in the wild in four years, with the last discovered litter dating back to 2018.
In April 18, 2022 in the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge were discovered four female pups and two male pups.
In the post is said the following: “As the sights and sounds of spring began to unfold on Alligator River NWR this April, something monumental was also unfolding on the landscape…a new litter of red wolf pups and renewed hope for survival of a species!”
It is also added that the pups’ parents were brought together .And the post was concluded,that every generation give a new hope a chance for red-wolf.
The scientists swabbed the dogs pups for genetic testing to confirm their parents and they were microchipped. The pup’s mom should watch from the nearby woods but stayed hidden during their swabbing and microchipping.
Also the pups will be tagged and vaccinated. Everybody hope that all 6 little wolf pups will survive.Of couse the time will show.
In 2020-2021, there were thirty breeding pairs, in 2021-22, there were 38 breeding pairs.
Hopefully, conservation efforts continue to push the species further and further from extinction.
